Union Night School: Unions—what are they?

Our union (or any union) can be placed in a history and context. Trade, craft, and industrial unions - and other forms of worker associations that have been part of Labour Movement traditions all over the world - each have their unique character and style, as well as things they all tend to share.

Come to this evening of Local Y010’s Union Night School. We are excited to meet you!

We’ll cover topics like:

  • What do we know about unions, and what have we heard from others?
  • What does it mean to be a union?
  • The ancestry of Canada’s labour laws
  • Union culture at work?

These are drop-in, peer-to-peer union education nights organized by members of YEU/PSAC Local Y010. Union Night School is free for all working and unemployed people to attend; YEU members’ wages are not covered to attend these volunteer-produced evening events.
