Your bargaining team is very pleased to announce that we have reached a tentative agreement with the employer for the new collective agreement. Our old agreement only expired a few days ago, so you won’t have to wait for months to get a pay raise.
Highlights of the deal include a 2% economic increase in 2025, more family illness leave days, and the sick family member that you need to care for no longer has to be living with you. There is also extra compensatory leave for employees who come to the end of their shift and have to stay because the person coming in can’t make it.
We will be holding a meeting to vote on the new agreement on Saturday, April 5, at 11:00 AM in the Lucy Jackson Boardroom at the union building, 100-2285 Second Avenue.
Please come and hear about all the agreement changes before casting your vote. The meeting should take about an hour.
