Shop Steward Roundtable: Navigating Emotions in Member Conversations - in Person or Virtual

Members often come to their Shop Steward when they are frustrated, angry, overwhelmed, or upset. How do we support them without absorbing their emotions or letting a difficult conversation derail?

This Roundtable will explore practical strategies for staying calm, listening effectively, setting respectful boundaries, de-escalating tense situations, and supporting members through emotionally charged conversations—while still protecting your own wellbeing.

Come share your experiences, learn from other Stewards, and build your toolbox for handling difficult conversations.

This round table is open to Shop Stewards and all YEU members. Coffee/Tea and light snacks will be provided.
