Shop Stewards are the representatives of the Union in the workplace. They voluntarily serve their co-workers by informing them of their rights and responsibilities under the Collective Agreement, answering questions, helping resolve problems, handling grievances, and educating fellow workers about union policies!

Join us for this two-day course to further develop your communication and problem-solving skills. The Orientation runs from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm both days and provides you with all the basics to get started as a Shop Steward for your Local with the Yukon Employees Union. A pizza lunch will be provided on the second day of training.

All YEU education is free, and if you are scheduled to work during a course, you can apply for Union Leave as a Shop Steward. Please use this form to send us the approved leave from your employer.

Community-based training should be prioritized when available; funding for travel to external training locations is not permitted in such cases.
