Yukon Workers’ Memorial to become a reality at last.

After years of effort by the Yukon Labour groups and in cooperation with the Yukon Workers’ Compensation Health & Safety Board, The Yukon Workers Memorial work is poised to become reality at last.  This memorial will be built to honor Yukon workers who have been killed and injured on the job.
Please attend the Groundbreaking Ceremony at Shipyards Park this Wednesday, September 11th at 2:30pm. Representatives of local labour organizations will be there as well as YWCHSB and most of the contractors who have committed time and resources to this important public memorial.

YFL President Vikki Quocksister invites you:
“I am asking for your presence and support for this long awaited day. I would like to be able to gather as many as can attend for a photo moment as well afterwards. Please invite union and community members to attend as well. This is a moment to honour those lost, and reinforce our intention to keep one another safe. Hope to see you there.”

Thank you to the City of Whitehorse and the Government of Yukon for their assistance.
