The term Operational Requirements gets used and misused at times when the employer is considering leave requests. When can the employer use Operational Requirements as the reason for denying leave requests of our members? Do they have to prove that there are genuine requirements? What can a Steward do to assist a co-worker whose leave requests are denied for this reason?
