For 25 years, members of Yukon Employees' Union have hosted a Labour Day party like no other. This year, we want to celebrate our community with a great big Labour Day bash! If you have ever attended or volunteered at a Feed the People Bbq, we hope you'll come out and celebrate with us!
We'll have LIVE MUSIC in the park, games for kids, a bouncy castle and just a ton of fun.
We're flipping burgers, cooking up hot dogs and corn-on-the-cob and all the fixings. and the PSAC Regional Pride Committee is making sure we finish up with a delicious sweet treat.
Every year, we hold a food drive for the Whitehorse Food Bank, and this year we are going WAY beyond what we've done before. We are building a PROTEIN PYRAMID!
YEU has ordered two pallets of peanut butter, and another of tinned tuna for the Whitehorse Food Bank from The Union Protein Project. This terrific BC organization is sponsored by unions and helps food banks and other helping organizations purchase high-quality protein at a low price. Check them out to learn more about their valuable work.
We need volunteers on Sunday and Monday - Sunday for the chopping and prepping party, and Sunday to get it ALL DONE!
