The bargaining process between Yukon government and YEU/PSAC moves into its next phase this weekend, with virtual Conciliation Board hearings scheduled to take place April 29 and 30. The federally appointed, three-member board will review submissions from both the employer and union teams.
Once the hearings have concluded, the board will consider what has been presented and discussed, and will provide a non-binding report to the Labour Relations Board Chairperson. We expect that report to be available within fourteen days, or a longer period if agreed to by the parties, or as directed by the Labour relations Board Chairperson.
YEU/PSAC Bargaining team members will visit Yukon communities in early June to discuss next steps. If a tentative agreement is the result of the board's report, members can expect a ratification vote at these meetings. If there is no tentative agreement, the meetings will provide an opportunity for members to ask questions and take a strike vote.
While details of the community visits are still taking shape, you can expect to see a YEU/PSAC team in your community between May 31 and June 5. We will communicate meeting specifics within the next couple of weeks so please watch the website and your inbox for updates.
