YEU Office Access Policy – What Members Need to Know

The Yukon Employees' Union office will be open from 9 am to 4 pm on weekdays.

To ensure staff safety and provide consistent service, the Yukon Employees’ Union office operates under a controlled-entry system during office hours.

Visiting the office with an appointment:

Arrive at your scheduled time
Call the office - (867) 667-2331
Staff will confirm your appointment and let you in

Visiting the office without an appointment:

Call the office - (867) 667-2331
Provide your name, Local, and reason for visiting
Wait while the staff confirm your identity and availability

If staff can assist you right away, you’ll be granted entry. If not, they’ll help book the next available appointment. Entry is granted only after your identity is confirmed (through membership records, staff recognition, or follow-up questions).

All members are expected to treat staff with respect and follow instructions while in the office. Disruptive or aggressive behaviour may result in removal or further action.

This approach helps us serve members effectively while maintaining a safe and respectful workplace.

Shared Responsibilities

Staff: Verify identity, apply the policy consistently, and maintain a safe environment
Members: Follow access procedures and engage respectfully

*YEU Locals must adhere to this policy. Access to the Lucy Jackson Room for Local meetings remains unaffected, and members can use the facility's back entrance to attend meetings. For Local meetings outside of office hours at the Lucy Jackson Room, Locals must ensure that the building's back entrance is closed before members exit the facility.
