The fight for 2SLGBTQIA+ rights has always been a fight for workers’ rights.

From the earliest Pride marches to today, organized labour has stood alongside the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in the struggle for equality, dignity, safety, and workplace rights. Union members have helped challenge discrimination, secure protections in collective agreements, and build workplaces where everyone can live and work openly and without fear.

Pride is about recognizing that history — and continuing the work.

The Yukon Employees’ Union is proud to sponsor this year’s Pride Festival organized by the Queer Yukon Society.

We also urge employers across the Yukon to give workers the opportunity to participate in Pride festivities and celebrate the community they work alongside every day.

Our solidarity is rooted in history, but our commitment is to the future: an inclusive Yukon where everyone is respected, protected, and free to be themselves.
