Stewards are often the first union representatives who learn that a member may need an accommodation at work. A co-worker can come to you as a trusted steward about anything from work-life balance issues to health issues that affect their work. While the Labour Relations Advisors will be the leads along with YG Disability Management Unit's representatives on such cases, stewards need to understand the rights and responsibilities of both the employer and YEU as well as the member under the Duty to Accommodate.
In this Zoom session, we'll cover what stewards need to know about the law and the process at YG so that you can explain it to your co-workers and support those in need.
