Civil Disobedience - Know Your Rights!

The Yukon Federation of Labour invites you to learn about Civil Disobedience.

Maybe you're planning a march, or to distribute leaflets for a cause you believe in. Perhaps you're ready to act as picket-line captain during a strike, or you want to know more about your rights at a demonstration or rally. Lawful protest and non-violent civil disobedience can effect change, and move the needle on important social issues. There are important considerations and some legal obligations however, and this workshop will help inform your decisions as an activist and demonstrator.

All interested union members, activists, and members of the public are invited to this 2-hour session.

On hand will be RCMP Sergeant Dave Smith, the Labour/Police Liason, to answer your questions.

Thursday, November 3rd (choose one of three sessions):

  • 9 am - 11 am
  • 1 pm - 3 pm
  • 5 pm - 7 pm

Email [email protected] to reserve a space in your preferred session.

Civil Disobedience Training Sessions will all be held at the Canada Games Centre Board Room, 200 Hamilton Blvd

Everyone is welcome; please register with the Yukon Federation of Labour to secure your spot.
