Welcome to the
Yukon Employees’ Union website
The Yukon Employees' Union is the largest labour union in the territory, representing 4,000 workers in 19 Locals from Watson Lake to Herschel Island. YEU is affiliated with the Public Service Alliance of Canada.
Each year YEU awards eight bursaries of $1000 each. Funds are available for tuition reimbursement for labour courses, local development and collective bargaining training. A limited amount of assistance is also available for labour related conferences and workshops.

The Yukon Employees' Union headquarters is located in Whitehorse, YT. The union, a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, delivers services to its members from offices owned by the YEU Building Association.
YEU employs a staff of
seven unionized workers, who are members of Northern Carpenters and
Allied Workers Local 2499. Positions include 3 administrative employees,
a
Communications
Officer and 3 Union Advisors. Management is provided by an Executive Director, who works under the guidance of the Union President.
Most of our members are governed in the work- place by the Public Ser- vice Staff Relations Act, that generally mirrors the federal act of the same name. The remaining YEU members are governed by the Canada Labour Code. The Yukon does not have a Labour Code of its own.
